Arts Overview

An essential element of our curriculum, all RHP students participate in the visual and performing arts courses. To foster Creative Spirits, Middle School and REACH students participate in arts rotations, while our upper school students are required to take at least two full years of art, with four years encouraged. Our visual and performing arts offer safe environments for exploration, focusing on individual expression, artistic process, and creative problem-solving through skill building. The program follows a multi-year sequence, each year building on the previous, guiding students toward personal growth and creative independence.

The schools provide ample opportunities for students to be creatively involved in and out of the classroom. Coffee Houses, Invitational Theatre Showcases, and Classical Night evenings complement traditional main-stage drama and musical productions at our school. Students participate in our award-winning publications, including the yearbook and the all-school literary magazine. Courses are taught by accomplished artists, musicians, and performers in their own right and committed, professional educators. All art students participate in art field trips to our outstanding local museums, galleries, and art openings and attend special events and workshops by guest artists.
