Sports at RHP taught me life lessons that I will hang on to forever. Between my coaches and my teammates, I have learned hard work, determination, and how to overcome challenges. These are some important lessons I have learned from my coaches. My coaches have taught me to always give 100% effort on everything and to never give up. When I first joined the football team at RHP, we had dog days. We had to run and condition a certain amount of hours for CIF. I remember during the running I wanted to give up, but I remember our coaches telling us that we had to do this and it was almost over. We pushed each other to run hard and finish the drills. What my coaches have taught me I will use these lessons in my everyday life. RHP Sports have had an amazing impact on my high school experience. I have made great friends who I consider to be family on the Football, soccer, and baseball teams. I have also had coaches who I consider to be mentors because they have given important life lessons. The football team is always together during the school day, sitting together at lunch, and hanging out during breaks. We even hang out during the weekends and after practice. Together we have chemistry and have built strong friendships, which is awesome. Some of my favorite memories at this school are through sports. Sports also helped me deal with the pandemic. During online school, football was the only thing I was looking forward to. I would go to practice every day and be with my friends. I got to hang out with my teammates every day and we became a close group. Our team became a family because of this. We would spend hours after school practicing and getting better, while also waiting for a season to happen. We are able to have trust on the field because of how close our team is, just like the community at RHP.  When I first moved to this school I was nervous about meeting new friends because I was getting comfortable with the community at my old school. I didn’t know if I was going to fit into this community. But, I met amazing people and started to find my group. Some of the people I met on my first day at school are some of my closest friends today. I remember just being so welcomed and felt right at home on my first day. I joined the soccer team and met some good friends. I am also grateful for events like outdoor ed that got me closer with my advisory and grade. I remember caving in Joshua Tree. We would help each other get through the tight spots in the caves. We would lift each other up to get through and communicate with each other to say what to do in the next steps. The team-building activities brought us together. These years at RHP have made an impact on me. The memories I have made at this school will stay with me forever. During my time at RHP, I was faced with many challenges, some were harder than others. But, I have realized sometimes the hardest challenges are the most worthwhile. The reward for me was getting into my first-choice college with a presidential scholarship. Hard work pays off.
