Happy Summer, Huskies! The 2021-2022 school year is approaching quickly and we look forward to welcoming families back. Please refer to the information listed on this page as we begin the 2021-2022 academic year. Additionally, certain items, such as student-specific information or forms, may be located in our educational management system, Blackbaud/MySchoolApp. Please be sure to complete all forms by August 20.

Please note that the weekly block schedule and Important Dates documents have been updated and should be reviewed. All prior versions are no longer accurate.

Important Things To Do
NOTE: Please be sure to complete all forms by August 20.
Several forms have been added to MySchoolApp (also known as Blackbaud) that are required prior to the beginning of the 2021-2022 school year and they are due by August 20, 2021. You may access MySchoolApp at RollingHillsPrep.MySchoolApp.com or by clicking the yellow "Blackbaud Login" buttons located on the top left corner of this page and several pages under the "Community" tab of our website, including the "Current Parents," "Current Students," and "Announcements and Events Details" pages.

Please login to your account and fill out the following forms:
  • 2021-2022 Parent Contact Card Information Form (each parent should complete this form)
  • 2021-2022 Student Contact Card Information Form (only one parent needs to complete this form on behalf of each student)
  • 2021-2022 Emergency Contact Form (only one parent needs to complete this form on behalf of each student)
  • 2021-2022 Medical Update (only one parent needs to complete this form on behalf of each student)
  • 2021-2022 Consent to Record Media (only one parent needs to complete this form on behalf of each student)
  • 2021-2022 Authorized Use Permission Form (only one parent needs to complete this form on behalf of each student)
Upon logging in to MySchoolApp/Blackbaud, you should see a yellow banner toward the top of the screen saying "You have # Form(s) to Review." Click on the green "Forms to Review" text to begin filling out forms.

Our transportation services include three bus routes servicing many of our local communities, including Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, Ladera Heights, and PV. If you are interested in using schoolwide bus services, please refer to the information packet and sign-up sheet linked below.

To ensure the safety of all students, the Office must be informed in writing if a student must take any medications while in school and the administration of all medication is to be handled through the school office. Students are not permitted to medicate themselves. Written permission from a physician and/or parents or guardians must be provided before the medication will be administered. You may provide this written permission by completing the medical update form in Blackbaud/MySchoolApp (contained in the important forms due 8/20).

Parents and Family Vehicles
As part of our permitting with the City of Los Angeles, all families are required to have a sticker or magnet on their vehicle indicating their association with the schools. This requirement will be waived for the first two weeks of school and stickers/magnets will be available at morning dropoff for the first week at the flagpole and in the front office.
Student Vehicles
If students wish to use the student parking lots on campus, they must register their vehicle at the front office and receive a sticker for their vehicle. Student vehicles are bound to the same rules as parent and family vehicles.
We have a new lunch vendor for the 2021-2022 school year. Please click below for information about the program and instructions on how to register and place lunch orders. Our lunch program will begin on Monday, August 30th.

Calendars, Schedules, and Events
Note: block schedules and calendars have been adjusted. Please review all the information carefully.

On Thursday and Friday, August 26 and 27, students will follow an adjusted schedule to accommodate extended advisory time and provide students the opportunity to settle into the new school year. Subject-area classes will be shorter than usual and will be scheduled to allow students to attend one session of each class by the end of the day on Friday. School begins at 8:00 AM and ends at 3:15 PM each day. Please click the link below to access the schedule for the first days of school.

A list of important dates, including holidays and breaks is available by clicking below. Please note that items on this list may change, however, any changes that occur will take place prior to the beginning of the 2021-2022 school year. 

Please note that due to COVID, several events at the beginning of the school year have either been canceled or altered to ensure the safety of our community. The International Student Orientation, New Family Event, and Husky Pride picnic have been removed and additional details will be shared soon.

This year will be filled with important events that you will want to be sure to keep track of. To assist with this, we have developed the 2021-2022 RHP/Ren Academic Calendar which provides the big-picture view of the year’s noteworthy dates.

Grade-Level Parent Mixers will be scheduled to take place in September and/or October. Stay tuned for more details to be announced as they are confirmed.

As you are likely aware by now, the RHP and Renaissance community completed the extensive process last year of reviewing and updating the weekly schedule structure as part of the ongoing cycle of reflection on school practices to best meet all students’ needs. Central objectives behind the updated schedule approach include ensuring that the schedule allows students to choose a range of subject pathways, the integration of physical and health education into the lesson rotation, and dedicated advisory lesson time.

Rolling Hills Prep and Renaissance Weekly Block Schedule 2021-2022

Students who are enrolled in AP courses may be required to participate in "AP Week," beginning Monday, August 16, prior to the beginning of school to ensure all course content can be covered prior to the AP exams at the end of the year.

AP Classes not listed on the schedule will not be required to meet.

All RHP, Renaissance, and REACH parents are invited to attend a virtual coffee with Amy Hollinger, our new Head of Schools, on August 17 at 9:00 AM. This event has been moved to a virtual session on Zoom to ensure accessibility and the safety of our community. This is a great opportunity to connect with Amy, learn more about her leadership approach, and ask questions.
We ask that all parents interested in attending RSVP using the form linked below. Additionally, the form includes fields to submit questions for Amy in advance. We hope to see you there!

All finalized student schedules will be delivered to each student prior to the first day back on August 26 via email. There is a two-week drop/add period at the beginning of the school year in which students may elect to switch courses. The process for course changes will be detailed within your child’s schedule.

Please note students may have summer assignments relevant to their courses for the next year. Details can be found via the links provided in the Summer Assignments web page.

Students in grades 5 to 10 must wear the required Physical and Health Education (PHE) school-branded uniform of a t-shirt and shorts or sweatpants to PHE classes. 

PE Uniforms - September 12 Order Deadline: New PE uniforms are here! All items can be ordered online and be delivered directly to your home via the One Stone Apparel link provided below.


The required attire will be school-branded shorts and a t-shirt, but there are also additional purchase options for Husky sweats, long-sleeved shirts, hoodies, and sweatshirts. The option to purchase PE attire will be available throughout the school year.

Student Life
Please review the 2021-2022 Student Handbook which outlines the behavioral and academic guidelines that all families in the RHP and Renaissance community are expected to adhere to. Students will be required to review the information and complete an acknowledgment form.

We are thrilled to announce that we will resume Outdoor Education for the 2021-2022 school year. In our planning of this event we adjusted our traditional Outdoor Education trips to be more locally based in order to be flexible and accommodate potential needs related to the Covid-19 pandemic. We are looking forward to this year’s Outdoor Education experience as it inevitably connects us as a community, creates grade-level bonding and team building. Practices for some upper school athletics teams will be taking place during the summer months. If you are interested in participating in a particular upper school sport please contact the Athletic Director, Mr. Harvey Kitani hkitani@rollinghillsprep.org for information about schedules and coaches’ contact information.

We encourage all new and returning students who are interested in participating in summer team practices and conditioning to reach out for more information. Please also print out the
form for student-athlete physicals, as all students who would like to participate in athletics must have a physical completed and returned to the athletics office before they can begin practices. We look forward to meeting and working with our new student-athletes.

Auditions for the classic comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream are Tuesday, August 31, and Thursday, September 2, from 3:30 PM to 5:15 PM. The fall play is open to all interested Middle and Upper School students.

All Upper School students are RECOMMENDED to complete 30 hours of Service Learning (community service) per year. Upper School students may complete additional hours in their freshman and sophomore years and bank them toward their obligation for their junior and senior years. Middle School students are RECOMMENDED to complete 15 hours of Service Learning per year.

The Rolling Hills Prep and Renaissance Schools Service Learning Program offers several ways for students to fulfill their requirements. Our Service Learning Coordinator, Ms. Rachel Rubin, will be in touch to provide resources for our students.
