Everlead 2020: Creating a Sustainable Future
Rolling Hills Prep is proud to partner with Everlead, an international educational company, for the second year of a cross-cultural, globally grounded summer program. Students will have the opportunity to work with students from Chengdu, China to explore the evolving and extremely urgent needs of the scientific field of sustainability. To explore this global phenomenon, students will examine local sustainability initiatives, learn about state-of-the-art technology and strategies, and explore the outcomes of leading a more sustainable life.
Students will also learn valuable interpersonal skills by collaborating with students from China to understand a topic that affects every nation on Earth. This cross-cultural exposure will prove to be crucial as future generations work together to correct the trends of environmental destruction and pollution.
Service Learning Program
Behind on service learning hours? This two-week Service Learning Opportunity is an excellent opportunity for students to satisfy their graduation requirement of 30 service hours per year while having a positive impact on our community. Each day, students will complete 6 hours of community service, gaining 60 hours over 2 weeks (2 years worth of hours!) All trips will be chaperoned by RHP/REN faculty members. Note: this opportunity is only open to high schoolers, as many volunteer organizations have minimum age requirements.
We are lucky to call Los Angeles, one of the largest and most diverse cities in the world, home. There is limitless history, knowledge, culture and beauty all around us, but it can be hard to find the time to appreciate all of this. During this two-week camp, students will visit various places around LA that exemplify its cultural and natural beauty. From the star-studded sidewalks of Hollywood Blvd. to the breathtaking cliffs of Palos Verdes, students will learn the rich history of LA while experiencing first-hand some of what makes Southern California the best place on Earth.
