<br><br><br>Media is both as a descriptor of an informational source and as a means of artistic expression. <br>The primary goals of Media Literacy are to help students become strong readers, consumers and users of mass and social media. <br>Students learn to think critically about the media as it relates to citizenship and democracy, develop an understanding of the visual message of the media and obtain a growing visual literacy. <br>Students explore semiotics, the ways in which media progresses hegemony, and critique the media with self-created media.<br> This class is aimed at encouraging critical thinking in the use of art and allowing students to explore and expand their use of their chosen media. </br></br><b><a href="https://www.rollinghillsprep.org/apps/pages/index.jsp?uREC_ID=1175054&type=d&pREC_ID=2170010">Click here to return to the Visual Arts Show 2021 Homepage</a></b>
