Hello everyone, my name is Adam Rice and I am very pleased to be writing this message as the Student Council President of both Rolling Hills Prep and The Renaissance School. I have attended RHP since the 6th grade and am what many call "A Lifer." Over the last six years I have tried to dabble in everything RHP has to offer and that is a lot. I have a true understanding of the school, and I can honestly say that this coming year I am more excited than ever to be here.

At first I may not have understood all the benefits of my superior RHP education, but now I see clearly. Every project I completed and every paper I wrote was necessary for my preparedness. That is what this school does, it prepares, I mean it's in the name! It prepares us for the next class, the next year, college, and for the many challenges we will face during the rest of our lives. Our excellent, supportive teachers ensure that every student succeeds. If a student does not understand a topic the teacher will take time out of his or her schedule to help. The journey thus far has not always been easy but I am a better, more prepared person for having gone through these challenges.

One of the advantages of RHP is the small community. My sister's high school graduating class was over 600 students and it was impossible to know everyone just in her grade alone. At RHP everyone knows each other, and this makes the school feel like a very safe place. The small community gives every student a chance to succeed and participate in a variety of activities in the classroom, sports field, or theatre.

I love these aspects of the school, but I am particularly excited for this year because RHP is constantly striving to improve. Since arriving at the new campus there have been many additions like a full athletic field and stands, an organic garden, a new parking area, and very recently a much needed library. Student Council has a lot to contribute to help accelerate this change and growth and will be working together with the administration to ensure that Rolling Hills Prep and The Renaissance School continue to strive for excellence. I am excited this year to see just how great it can be. Put your safety goggles on and strap yourself in for the most amazing year yet!

Adam Rice

P.S. Any new students or teachers who are a little confused, please come talk to me, because you will only be adding to the community I hold so dearly.
