Your regular scrip purchases can earn you credit toward your child's tuition!
Scrip is a No-Cost Fundraiser. Funds generated by the Scrip Program go to support the school through the Parents Association, paying for school events and Parents Association activities. Now, in addition, the program can provide you with a credit toward your tuition payments. Programs similar to this have been in place at other area schools with great success.
- The Tuition Credit Program is highly encouraged but not mandatory.
- If you want to participate, you must sign up for the tuition credit program. The form is available in the office or can be downloaded here.
- Each School family is encouraged to generate a $50 Scrip Profit from scrip "purchases" in order to support the Parents Association. It does not matter how many children you have in the school - it is a per-family calculation.
- Once you reach $50 in scrip, one-half of all profits over $50 will be credited to you, while half will continue to benefit your student through the Parent Association.
- After family and friends register, you need to send an e-mail to rhpscrip1101@verizon.net, listing the names of people earning credit on your family's behalf. If we are not notified of their registrations and names, credits earned will be applied to the Parents Association account.
The Scrip Team does all the record keeping for you. The "Scrip Year" runs from Mar 2 to Mar 1. We close our books in March to allow adequate time to calculate profits for each family and to prepare statements. At the end of the scrip year, profits from each source are added together. Each family that is signed up to participate will receive an e-mail detailing the amount generated in scrip funds by all of the people signed up on their behalf. Half of the amount raised will go to the Parents Association.
The other half of the money will be disbursed in one of three ways:
- Returning families who have signed up for the program will receive a tuition credit for the 2010-2011 school year. An accounting of tuition credit amounts and the funds raised will be provided to the school's finance department April 1, and will be reflected in your billing for the following year.
- Graduating senior families can apply their tuition credit toward their closing statement for the current school year.
- Faculty and staff will receive scrip credit.
All funds raised from participants who do not fall into any of these categories will go to the Parent Association.
There are three ways you can participate in the Scrip Progam:
- Ordering scrip through the Scrip Team: You can fill out the scrip order form (which can be downloaded here) and drop it off at the office with a check made out to "RHP Scrip." Usually, scrip purchased by the end of the week is available for your pickup in the school office by the following Friday. You will receive an e-mail when it is ready for pickup.
- Ordering scrip online: You can log on to www.shopwithscrip.com (Shopwithscrip.com#: RHP#A52E794C9128) and create an account to benefit RHP. Once you have set up your account, you can order scrip from hundreds of vendors. You place your order, print out the confirmation, and drop off a copy of the confirmation(s) with a check at the office. You also can set up a "Presto-Pay" account to charge directly to your credit card (there's a small additional fee). In most cases, scrip purchased by Thursday will be available for pickup in the school office by the following Friday. For a few cards (like Starbucks, AMC, Gap), if you already have a card that's registered with www.shopwithscrip.com, the card can be reloaded online by following their simple steps.
- Registering existing cards: You can register your existing cards so that the school receives a donation every time you use them. You can download the form here fill it out and give it to a member of the Scrip Team or drop it off in the Advancement Office (which is more secure than the front desk). You can also go to www.escrip.com and set up an account to benefit Rolling Hills Prep School. With that account you will be able to register some of your cards yourself and also check how much your purchases have generated in scrip credit. If you have family and friends who want to help the school, you can set up accounts for them and register their cards to RHP. However, for many grocery chains, you cannot register your card yourself; you must submit the form to the Scrip Team.
