Rolling Hills Prep Boys' Basketball 2013 CIF Division 5A Champions
Rolling Hills Prep School boys' basketball is known as one the premiere small school basketball programs in Southern California. Multiple CIF and league championships, former players succeeding at the collegiate and professional levels both as players and coaches, and outstanding sportsmanship and character from our student athletes.
RHP boys' basketball has been to six C.I.F. championship games, winning the Championship in 1998, 2002, 2003, 2004,and 2013. The team has also won numerous Coastal League championships through the years.
The team is coached by Mark Fancher, who is in his second stint as Head Coach at Rolling Hills Prep. He is originally from Rochester, New York and played college basketball at Alfred State University and was part of a regional championship team. Athletic Director Brian Knigin says, "Fancher's dream has always been to be a basketball head coach, and we are happy to have made his dream come true. He brings a wealth of knowledge from his varied experiences and enormous enthusiasm and excitement to the program. We are looking forward to great things!"
RHP Junior Varsity Boys' Basketball concentrates on building the skill level of its players. Made up primarily of freshmen and sophomores, the coaches are expert at teaching fundamentals and confidence building. By the end of the season the team has bonded and learned to play the game the correct way.
Please Note: For the 2013-2014 season, Middle School Basketball games will be on campus and Upper School Basketball games will be played at Harbor College.
